18/02/2020Survey on Cultural perceptions and impacts of road crashes
We have created a first survey to assess ways to include cultural perceptions and cultural impacts of post-crash traumas throughout the world. We are aware that answering this survey may not be easy, so please confer with colleagues and friends to evaluate the relevance of the questions in your particular context.
This Survey was created by the European Federation of Road Traffic Victims (FEVR) and Humanity & Inclusion (HI) for the Pillar 5 Group of the Global Alliance of NGOs Advocating for Road Safety and Road Traffic Victims. The results are meant to be shared among Alliance members and the Pillar 5 Working Group of the UNRSC ( UN Road Safety Collaboration) and solely for research purposes.
Language, religion, ethics and cultural values condition the way people perceive, understand and respond to the trauma of road crashes.
But international programmes that promote road safety, post-crash care and response don’t usually tackle this complicated issue of different cultural perceptions and views on road crashes, for lack of knowledge from the ground.
