today the Tran committee adopted the EU Road Safety Policy Framework 2021-2030 – Recommendations on next steps towards "Vision Zero"

- 21 a Acknowledges World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, that is held each third Sunday of November to remember the many millions who have been killed and seriously injured on the world’s roads and as a day to thank the emergency services and reflect on the tremendous burden and cost of this daily continuing disaster to families, communities and countries; calls on the European Parliament, European Council and European Commission to formally recognise the day by way of holding an annual event supported by the three institutions;
- Highlights that an effective and complete post-crash response includes, in addition to medical care and rehabilitation, the provision of mental and social support, alongside recognition for the victims and thorough crash investigation to identify causes and measures to prevent recurrence, criminal and civil proceedings whenever appropriate; calls on the Member States to establish closer collaboration between their road safety authorities and the health sector, to enforce their correct use to speed up rescue operations; calls further the Commission and the Member States to provide for sufficient financing for efficient emergency infrastructure, including air medical services especially in remote, mountainous and insular regions; calls on the Commission to make first aid training compulsory in the future revision of the Driving Licence Directive; calls on Members States to enshrine in the driving codes the concept of “emergency corridors” and to launch further awareness raising campaigns; recalls the importance of effective follow-up victim support; A lot yet to be done
