18/02/2020Congratulations for Road Safety Package
Today the European Commissionner Violeta Bulc presented new EC Road Safety measures
The Commission focuses on actions with strong EU added-value
and is today proposing a new policy framework for 2021-2030. It confirms
the EU’s long-term goal of moving close to zero fatalities and serious
injuries by 2050 (“Vision Zero”), with an interim target of minus 50%
between 2020 and 2030

FEVR welcomes this new package which is giving us some hope that after 3 years of nearly no progress in reducing casualties on EU roads we could now come a bit Closer, in the remaining less than 3 years to the end of the decade, to the target set in 2010. Well done to have vulnerable road users considered and serious injured on the target
• PEDESTRIAN/CYCLISTS
DETECTION
• REINFORCED PROVISIONS FOR
VULNERABLE ROAD USERS
