04/02/2022The European Parliament has voted overwhelmingly to back a document setting out the institution’s views on the EU road safety strategy for the next ten years. In a new resolution adopted Wednesday October 6th, MEP state that robust road safety measures, such as a speed limit of 30 km / h, are a way to eliminate deaths on EU roads by 2050.
The EU road safety resolution was adopted with 615 votes against 24 and 48 withdrawals. MEPs have endorsed the overall EU strategy, with the headline targets to cut serious injuries and deaths by 50% by 2030, along with the vision zero and ‘safe system’ approach. We would like to thank very much all the Members of European Parliament for this very important support for road safety and road victims.
