CONDOLENCES FOR THE VICTIMS OF THE BUS CRASH
05/07/2017
Official 0by30 in cities pre-event to the 3rd Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety 2020
18/02/2020Brigitte Chaudhry, past FEVR president and World Day champion from its origin:
“We, road victim advocates, cannot accept that our passionate and dedicated work over many decades, towards ending the needless killing and maiming on the world’s roads, has not even resulted in a reduction during the Decade of Action 2011-2020!
Most of our recommendations in the Brussels NGO Declaration* for that Decade have yet to be acted upon and NGOs are urged to demand that this will happen during the next Decade 2020-2030. We need to become even stronger and make it clear to all stakeholders that the only acceptable target to road victim NGOs is NO road deaths – Let´s start with Vision Zero In Cities by 2030 to finally reach Vision Zero everywhere in 2050 #0by30
This special remembrance day responds to this major public health disaster by recognising the loss and pain suffered by road traffic victims and the impact on communities and countries.
“Life is not a car part” The theme for this year’s commemoration of the World Day of Remembrance relates to Pillar 3 of the Global Decade of Action: Safer vehicles. In addition, it accords with the general theme of the 3rd Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety that will take place in Stockholm in February 2020 – “Achieving Global Goals 2030”.
