Holiday Greetings
22/12/2025Yesterday, we received very sad news from the United Kingdom. At first, we feared it might be a mistake or spam. Sadly, this is not the case.
Our sister organisation and one of the founding members of FEVR, RoadPeace, has announced that it will be closing its operations.
Here is the official announcement by RoadPeace and the official statement by its founder, Brigitte Chaudhry:
This is undoubtedly a sad day for all of us. RoadPeace has been a truly pioneering NGO, which together with other organisations within FEVR carried out groundbreaking work over 34 years in advocacy, victims’ rights, support, and assistance for road traffic victims, both at the European and global level.
Its founder, Brigitte Chaudhry, who also served as President of FEVR from 2004 to 2010, was the initiator of the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims (WDoR), a global movement that continues to unite organisations and communities worldwide in remembrance, solidarity, and advocacy.
This moment reminds us of the reality, the needs, and the challenges of our time. It calls on all of us to be even stronger, more united, and more connected. The challenges and needs of our mission on the roads have by no means disappeared. In many places, they are increasing. What is changing are the forms, approaches, and ways of working.
We must adapt accordingly at national, regional, European, and global levels.
For this reason, FEVR is committed to further developing its website and showcasing the many projects carried out by our members. This will enable stronger bilateral, regional, and global cooperation and create greater opportunities to attract partners, supporters, and sponsors.
This important topic will also be discussed at the next FEVR General Assembly.
With respect,
Robert Štaba
FEVR President
