Katarzyna Dobrzańska-Junco is head of the Road Safety Council of the Lesser Poland and President of the Center of Initiatives for Road Safety Foundation. She serves as board member of the European Federation of Road Traffic Victims (FEVR) and as Vice president of the victim's Association “Przejscie”. Ms Dobrzańska-Junco is also the director for Road Safety in the Malopolska Road Traffic Center based in Cracow, and since 2021 FEVR delegate to the United Nations Road Safety Collaboration & European Transport Safety Council.
In her professional work, being responsible for road safety in a region, she deals with road safety management, focusing especially in safe system approach and two areas: prevention and post-crash care. In prevention area she has created all over the years several professional education programs for primary and secondary schools, as well as prevention programs for seniors. Also deals with creation of a Trauma Recovery Center for road crash victims in Poland. Together with association Przejscie managed to implement free psychological help for road crash victims. As FEVR board member since 2022, managed to strengthen the voice of victims advocating on international level among others several times in United Nations in Geneva World Road Safety Forum, UNRSC, on European Comission session as well as call for action on Road Safety European Comission Conference in Dublin. She has been involved in world commemorations of World Day of Remembrance. In 2023 Ms Dobrzańska-Junco was awarded the Cross of Merit by the President of the Republic of Poland for her contribution to improving road safety in the country and has published several books and articles on road safety prevention and post-crash care, including “Stories to be told. Voices to be heard” – FEVR stories of road crash victims. She advocates for world commemorations of World Day of Remembrance, being official also organizer of the Day together with Ministry of Transport and National Road Safety Council in Poland.
Ms Dobrzańska-Junco holds a Master's degree in the fields of pedagogy and philology, and post-graduate studies in human resources, communication, transport psychology and psycho-traumatology. Speaks fluently English, Spanish, Portuquese. Native Polish.
