Wulf Hoffmann has spent most of his professional life dealing with road safety:

  • 42 years of service as a police officer, mainly in the transport sector, finally as senior police officer.
  • The last 10 years of service until 2012 as a Department Head for Traffic Police Affairs at the Ministry of the Interior responsible for road safety, traffic enforcement, accident analysis, black spot management commission
  • Member of Traffic safety commission of the German Police Union DPolG, specialised in traffic engineering and member of the Road and Transport Research Association (FGSV)
  • Uninterrupted member of the Executive Committee for Traffic Engineering of the German Road Safety Council (DVR) since 2007
  • Freelance lecturer in road safety
  • Advanced training events / road user training for traffic and regulatory authorities, companies, but also for accident commissions at the Police University of Applied Sciences in Aschersleben, moderator of "sicher mobil" for the DVR
  • Vice President on the Executive Board of Landesverkehrswacht Sachsen Anhalt, a German wide Road Safety Association DVW, responsible for project development and support, training courses.
  • Co-founder and board member of the Traffic Victims' Help Association Germany (VOD).
  • Responsible for Road safety and co-operation / contacts at international level (WHO and UNECE, but mainly FEVR, IRVP ETSC and ERTRAC)

Following a preliminary phase of cooperation, the VOD has been a full member of the European Federation of Road Traffic Victims (FEVR), which was founded on 6 July 1991, since 2016. The VOD was also a founding member when it was officially registered as a European non-governmental organisation in 2022.

The election of Wulf Hoffmann as a member of the FEVR Executive Board is seen by him and his organisation as a great honour, but also a great commitment.
