World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims 2024
08/11/2024FEVR Holiday greetings
23/12/2024FEVR President Robert Štaba presented the activities for the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims 2024 at the at the UN Road Safety Collaboration Meeting in Geneva.
As he highlighted, the core message of the presentation was the unified approach of the three road victim associations – FICVI, IRVP, and FEVR – in organizing the That Day campaign. Through the shared website https://worlddayofremembrance.org/, the campaign was made accessible worldwide. That Day was promoted across all continents, with 121 events held and 25 translations into various global languages.
#WDoR2024 is not just a day of remembrance and reflection but also a message of life – emphasizing its value both before and especially after such life-altering experiences, from which we can all learn and become better and safer.
The Vision Zero goal is achievable, and everyone can contribute because every individual counts. As Dr. Etienne Krug (WHO) noted, road traffic victims are vital partners in the global “Road Safety” family, a partnership that will also be crucial at the upcoming 4th Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety in Morocco.
